Paige Porchia

“When human beings experience joy or exceptional life events, the desire to preserve them is not uncommon.”

As the owner and founder of FlutterBy Photography, Paige has a great passion to connect with others and enable them to keep special moments forever. She is a licensed photographer who works to do this by providing “exceptional home studio and on-location experiences for children of all ages and their Families,” according to the company’s LinkedIn. Her expertise lie in birth and baby photography. Coming from a family that is, “U.S. Army, through and through,” Paige spent nearly 10 years serving our country as a Logistician before becoming a mother and deciding to branch out into photography. According to Paige’s professional profile, “I decided to leave the Army after 8 years to start a Family.

Through Motherhood I rediscovered a passion for capturing special moments and life events through photography and knew that would be my next adventure.” She accredits her aspirations to her parents who are both Veterans and to her mother who was also a photographer. In order to further her professional development within the field of photography, Paige volunteers her services for various local organizations, including Mom2Mom Fort Bragg, Nationwide Nurse-In, Bikers for Autism, Fort Bragg VMMM, and her own motherhood support group called Babies, Boobs & Butterflies. Prior to starting her photography career, Paige earned a Bachelor’s in Criminology/ Military Science from North Carolina State University in 2007 and has also completed the U.S. Army.

She now takes continued learning courses through Fayetteville Technical Community College in order to expand her knowledge of photography which she believes is paramount for personal growth. Regarding her advice to others, Paige says, “Don’t give up. Nothing worth it is ever attained easily. Balance work with quality family time. Family always comes first. Never stop learning. Self teach, take classes and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Keep your head down (stay focused) and have fun.

If you spend all of your time comparing yourself to others then you’ll never be happy.”. She claims that her success stems from her “Faith in God and loving support system” and that keys to creativity include the “ability to be resilient and flexible... oh yes, and good lighting!”. When she isn’t working, Paige thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She’s a devoted mother and wife addicted to coffee, sweet tea and anything beachy. She is a licensed skydiver with the United States Parachute Association (USPA) and certified in Open Water and Advanced Open Water Scuba Diving through the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI). Skydiving, scuba diving, horseback riding, reading and dancing in the rain are just a few of her favorite pastimes.
